A guiding light...

Lighthouses are common in coastal regions, but not so much in wine regions...

We have Joseph Goulet to thank for this lighthouse overlooking "a sea of vines". This inventive gentleman decided he wanted his brand to be associated with a festive atmosphere, and had an outdoor theatre, a restaurant and an open air café built at the foot of the building.

Today it is an ecomuseum that allows you to unlock the secrets of vineyard work through an audio-guided tour.

Should you feel so inclined, you can visit the lighthouse. You do have to climb exactly 101 steps, but the view from the top is breathtaking!
