The Lac du Der, Europe's largest artificial lake is a miracle of engineering. Six long landscaped beaches are there for water sports enthusiasts to enjoy and are patrolled in summer.
Nature lovers will not be left out, as more than 200 bird species can be found here, including cranes that arrive en masse.
